The first pediatrician with training and practice in Molecular Allergology. She graduated in Medicine in 1977 at the Rome University "Sapienza" and specialized in Pediatrics in 1980 and in Childcare in 1985. For over 25 years, she was interested in pediatric allergy and for more than 10 years she has begun her personal journey in Molecular Allergology. Extremely interested in the matter, since the beginning of 2008 she has transferred her business from one of the largest departments of pediatrics in Rome to the Molecular Allergology Center, by integrating her healthcare activity with that of research in the pediatric age, effectively complementing the activities already taking place in the center and dedicated to teenagers, adults and seniors. She has performed some fundamental studies on markers of severity of food allergy in children, mainly in cow's milk, egg, and plant food allergy. In collaboration with the other CAAM members and researchers from other research centers, she has identified and characterized new allergenic molecules and, thanks to microarray-based diagnostics, she has set new molecular profiles of awareness leading to innovative schemes for therapeutic intervention in the allergic child. Dr.ssa Alessandri is co-author of 33 scientific papers, 23 of which in collaboration with other CAAM members. She is co-founder of CAAM, sharing the spirit and philosophy, contributing to its organization and its development. Together with the other CAAM specialists she contributes to the design and release of the second generation molecule-based test for allergy diagnosis, the FABER IgE test.

Specialist and laboratory researcher. She graduated in Medicine in 1994 at the Rome University "Sapienza", got her specialty degree in Allergy and Clinical Immunology in 1999, and graduated as PhD in Science of Immunological therapies in 2006. After her time at university dedicated to the healthcare and research in HIV disease, in 2006 she, first among the members of the Founders CAAM, joined the Center of Molecular Allergology, where she began and developed her work related to the clinical and immunological characterization of new allergenic molecules. Many of these new molecules have increased the number of allergens on the ISAC microarray, and have created a new "flexible" microarray called ABA (Allergen Beads Array) for which Dr.ssa Bernardi has given the greatest contribution in research and development. Her description of the different clinical and immunological reactivity to homolog or not homolog allergens has contributed to the development of new therapeutic interventions in patients with food allergy. She is co-author of 32 scientific papers including 26 in collaboration with other CAAM members. She is co-founder of the CAAM, actively and originally contributing with her clinical activities and research. Together with the other CAAM specialists she contributes to the design and release of the second generation molecule-based test for allergy diagnosis, the FABER IgE test.

Molecular Allergology forerunner. Specialist graduated in Medicine at the Rome University "Sapienza" in 1980, got the specialty in Allergology in 1983. He added to his clinical training the activity as researcher in the laboratory, with a long lasting collaboration with the Laboratory of Immunology at the Italian National Institute of Health (1984-2000) where he learned all the biochemical an immunochemical techniques, and the development of murine models. Among other activities, he acquired the basics of programming on personal computers, creating the first database of low molecular weight compounds causing allergies (i.e. drug, hapten, occupational allergens). At the end of the eighties, in the pre-Internet era he produced a report for the Council of Europe, funding the project, including 1,500 compounds and their chemical, immunological and clinical features. Since the early nineties he resumed his clinical allergology practice as allergist working in local settings of the Italian National Healthcare System. In the second half of the nineties he brought together all his expertise, clinical, laboratory and information technology, in the great project of Molecular Allergology leading to the identification of many allergenic molecules, to the development of microarrays as the main tool for investigations in allergy diagnostics, the creation of the Allergome web platform, the development of its external modules, the electronic record InterAll, the AllergomeConsumer project, and the initial development of Apps for mobile devices, and for their integrated use in the clinic and in research. Dr. Mari is the author and co-author of 154 scientific papers, 43 of them in collaboration with other CAAM members. He is a member of the Subcommittee for the Standardization and Quality Assessment of Immunological Diagnostics of the International Union of Immunological Societies. He has been the creator of the first Center for Molecular Allergology and is co-founder of the CAAM, which helps with organizational activities, coordination and developments. Currently, he has unanimously been appointed by the other Associates Founder, Director and Representative of the CAAM. Together with the other CAAM specialists he contributes to the design and release of the second generation molecule-based test for allergy diagnosis, the FABER IgE test and of the original dynamic visualization system of the test results, the CDRS.
